Can I erase ALL THE PHOTOS I have loaded on ths new computer and then start over and just keep all my new photos on tha external hard drive?

yes can delete photos want.refer adobe photoshop lightroom | manage photos within folders    

keep in mind deleting pictures catalog means loose editing have done.

then create new catalog file>>new catalog , start fresh.

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
