Lightroom CC doesn't import photos and shows an error, backup also fails
hi,
i'm using lightroom cc on mac , trying import images, lightroom fails time reason.
during last import lightroom failed download images , showed me following notification: "lightroom encountered error when reading preview cache , needs quit. lightroom attempt fix problem next time launches".
as shuts down suggests backup catalogue files , following notification appears: "lightroom unable catalogue named xxx. please check folder permissions, , make sure have available space on drive , main catalog's drive".
i have 2 tb of disk space available.
i tried import both camera , computer, fails complete import both ways, several files had been imported , import fails. within each attempt import files lightroom creates temporary folders multidigital names.
i restarted lightroom, computer, tried create backup folder, nothing helped. please assist me.

you need delete preview cache lightroom catalog.
it located in same folder lightroom catalog. preview cache name ends previews.lrdata , should deleted. not confuse *.lrcat, should not deleted.below image of named default lightroomcatalogpreviews.lrdata.
location /pictures/lightroom on mac.
delete folder , restart lightroom
: "lightroom unable catalogue named
this means not have enough permissions save backup location
select drive backing catalogs
go file>get info in finder
check sharing , permissions section near bottom
you must have read , write permissions location(specially username logged in )
