Unable to use Elements 14 as my iPhoto editor?

i have use elements editing tool photos saved in iphoto on mac. have done in past elements 6, elements 10, , elements 12 designating elements editing tool in iphoto preferences.

i have purchased elements 14, , have designated editing tool iphoto.

 

however, when selected photo open in iphoto files, , click on edit symbol, photo not open in elements 14.  instead notice pops saying

" document (file number of photo) not opened.   adobe photoshop elements 14 cannot open files in "jpeg image" format."    ok

 

what mean?  how can elements 14 not open jpeg?

 

i have 10 years of photos saved in iphoto.  find desired iphoto file using iphoto buddy.  iphoto , iphoto buddy great seamless team combined 1 click opening of image in elements editor.  has been super easy way work when used elements 6, 10, , 12, , 1 have no desire away with.

adobe elements 14

you need set iphoto>preferences>advanced>edit photos adobe photoshop elements editor.app in

/applications/adobe photoshop elements 14/support files

 

(not shortcut named adobe photoshop elements 14.app won't work)
