Unlinked/broken links displaying as grey boxes instead of low-res preview of images. How to fix it?

there simple solution have overlooked apologies if it's silly question.

 

i have upgraded cc 2015 version , encountered problem.

 

when send indesign file client uses same version me (cc 2015) instead of seeing low-res preview of image see grey box broken links. when click "save as"  tickbox "always save  preview images documents" ticked , images in said indd document saved tiff before being drag , dropped layout. client's view -> display performance set "typical display" , whenever send files me see preview images broken links fine.

Error: 100600 Update failed, updates have been disabled by your system policy

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
