Reader DC did not uninstall properly, and Adobe Cleaner "not responding" when I run it. Can't reinstall Reader.

we had working copy of adobe reader vs. 11.   when ran update dc, no longer open pdfs.   uninstalled dc via usual add/remove programs in windows 8.1 pro, when go reinstall, says software there.  research indicates uninstall not complete, , download , run adobe cleaner.   did that, , when running program, says please wait , appears running, after 15 minutes doing nothing. 

 

so can't run cleaning tool, , can't install reader again.  , of course, can't read pdfs!   now?    thanks.

uninstall reader dc control panel -> programs & features. restart system & try install reader link adobe - adobe acrobat reader dc distribution.

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
