Delay in Toolbar

you know how tools have drop-down if click , hold. go between several tools on constant basis , noticed lag. small thing enormous nuisance disrupts workflow. please help! updated ps cc latest install. running on new machine has far more enough power run ps smoothly. makes no sense, how happen overnight. have ideas? thanks!

would suggest reset photoshop preferences , then, check again.
