Can I use more than 1 layer mask in a single layer?

hello everyone!


i total beginner in photoshop, doing far trying complete tutorials.


at 1 point of tutorial started today, description mentions have make selection in left part of image,add layer mask , press ctrl + backspace selection disappears. did that, no problem.


the next step same in top part of image.


my problem have active layer mask , can't repeat same steps since not allowed program create second 1 in same layer.


what missing?

create group of layer , mask , apply layer mask group.

Maximum number of authorizations reached!
