Working in Photoshop is painfully slow and jerky. Any suggestions?

as begin using photoshop, computer becomes slow.

 

it has become jerky. hard work @ consistent pace.

 

making simple selection polygonal lasso tool causes selection impossible control, spinning disc pops quite bit also.  have never experienced this. lightroom works fine. need help! suggestions?

let's try reset photoshop preferences first.

press , hold alt+control+shift (windows) or option+command+shift (mac os) start photoshop. prompted delete current settings. new preferences files created next time start photoshop.

refer how delete/reset photoshop preferences

backup actions/modified workspaces/plugins before(if any)

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
