Automatic insertion of a white space

i'm trying figure out whether there way insert white space, perhaps part of applying character style.

 

the case: want convert number starts marginalia note into superscript. that's done via standard character style operation, no problem. however, want superscript number have space (or tab) after it. can't find way how it.

 

sure, insert space after manually, quite bummer in multi-hundred page document...

have tried adding tracking superscript character style? should add desired space after number, can see there's no white space character:
