Syncing collections edited on macbook to the master catalog on an imac

my macbook pro has set images recent trip in folder, created several collections on macbook pro.  have copied these "master" images , related collections imac.  folder structure master images on imac in different location on macbook pro.   have since done editing of of collections on imac. 

 

on subsequent trip, took macbook pro previous trip still on it, has been untouched since had loaded imac. while on new trip edited of images in of collections had not been edited on imac. 

 

now need sync these edited collections on macbook pro collection on imac.  how do that?

 

if need delete collection on imac , sync edited collection macbook, have no problem in deleting collection on imac since not trying preserve it.  still - how bring across single collection (out of many) macbook imac, , insure new collection links master images (stored in different location on imac)  without having move whole catalog , related master images.  hope clear :-)

the collections saved inside catalog using in lightroom

you have physically copy catalog or export collection catalog.

 

you can right click on collection , choose export catalog.

 

then can import same catalog in the  imac.
