lr4 / mac. When I shift NEF file creation time 1 hr, the time doesn't change in the folder. Will they still sequence properly with other files that have the proper time?

i forgot adjust end of daylight savings time. i'm wondering if time in metadata has changed not file appears in original folder. these files included files photographer , processed in ps6. thanks.

when shift nef file creation time 1 hr,  time doesn't change  in folder.

there many times associated photos, it's important precise.  saying when apply lr's metadata > edit capture time shift capture time of photos, creation or last-modified dates displayed mac finder or windows file explorer aren't changing?

cameras record capture time in photo metadata inside photo file. referred exif datetimeoriginal.  edit capture time command changes.

the mac , windows operating system (and firmware inside cameras) record date/times when kind of file, not photo, created , modified.  in general, shouldn't rely on these, since many programs, including lr, not preserve them manipulate photos.  frustrating many long-time mac users, have grown accustomed relying on file creation dates, hard fact many mac programs , utilities not preserve creation dates. photo industry has defined photo metadata precisely make sure photo dates preserved.

thus, long see in lr's metadata panel looks correct, else using photo-aware tools see same dates.
