Premiere --> Audition: files names changed

hi there

 

i'm trying render out omf of feature film. want go on audition step.

 

sending project directly audition seems work, though somewhere in process

the file names changed: every file name gets "extracted" prefix - why?

 

e.g. brds40e1t1.wav --> brds40e1t2 extracted.wav

this unconvenient sound mixer. isn't there way maintain

original file names? intend render out referenced omf, original file

name seem essential.

ps: weird: why audition writing new files, when let out referenced omf?

the _extracted suffix added premiere pro when sends stuff audition.  audition unfortunately doesn't have control of that.  reason why suffix added there because creating copy of clip (and underlying file) trimmed range of clip +/- handle duration.

 

as audition writing new files when sending referenced omf, try avoid creating additional copies.  omf has tight restrictions on characters can in file name, sample rate, bit depth, how long filename , forth.  if there's things don't fit criteria, create new file.

 

you can test importing omf has embedded media in audition. have extract embedded media, write new omf reference media extracted. since know file names , else omf-legal, should able reference file directly without copy.
