cannot access Audition Files stored on external drives

why when save entire audition file folder external drive, , try access later not open? audition 8.0 freeze become unresponsive , close. file stored on fast usb 3.0 drive running on microsoft surface pro 3 i7 8gb ram, 256gb ssd, windows 10 pro. please keep in mind other services off (cortana, etc.) , not other apps or programs running. find silly since abode software expensive.

please not want have redo automation , effects work.

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
