Possible editing laptop on sale today

...at "new egg" today "refurbished" asus gaming laptop sale $869, plus, $50 rebate card....final cost $ 819.    bought 1 15 months ago , have had great luck , performance it.

this model has better cpu mine , better gpu.  have many things machine.

 

1. although cpu not have 6 or 8 cores desktop haswell e system, 4 core, ( 8 thread) haswell cpu in machine turbos 3.5 ghz on 4 cores under load.....that great laptop.......my version turbos 3.3, so, improvement on g 750jw. newest , way more expensive laptops not offer improvement on cpu speed.

 

2. 860m nvidia gpu better 765m in machine. negative 860m comes 2gb of video memory, although there 4gb variants on other  expensive machines. however, not being "9xx series " gpu, user can overclock safely memory clock , smaller extent, gpu clock increase " memory bandwidth" of card...and thus, performance.

    use free utility " msi afterburner" safely , laptop's cooling robust gpu temp never goes above 65c under intensive gaming 2 1440p wqhd 60hz ips  monitors attached plus native 17.3" screen running !!! premiere, stays in 40s range , under heavy rendering may go 50s.......great laptop performance!

    without overclocking gpu, stock memory bandwidth 64.1gb/sec. achieved on clock of +66 on gpu clock , +1000 on memory clock, ( using afterburner's numbers on scale), memory bandwidth increases 96.1......a fifty per cent improvement !!!....with no heat issues  !! increase in bandwidth can compensate suggested requirement have @ least 3 gb of video memory when working 4k material.... though not entirely. 4k....within limits realtime.....you may have render previews,or, limit tracks, or, effects degree...or, transcode clips "edit friendly" dnxhr,or, cineform. 1080p breeze machine, using current version of ppro cc, ( uses greater memory , handles 4k better previous software versions).

 

3. laptop comes hdmi 1.4 port , "mini-displayport" , ( version 1.1...not 1.2 , called "thunderbolt 1 " ).  these ports support full resolution of wqhd, ( 2560 x 1440p) monitors @ 60 frames per second. doing myself speak 2 27" ips monitors running plus native screen no problems,or, heat.

     believe these ports support full 4k monitor @ 30fps. of course, "thunderbolt port" can used connect higher speed external storage of 1gb per second bi- directional.

 

4. laptop self-upgradeable. best performance must first increase system memory...which done. there 2 accessible empty memory slots on bottom side of laptop. placing 2 8 gb sticks in there increase system memory 24 gb, good. other 2 slots not accessible, under keyboard , require complete disassembly at. have existing 4 gb stick in each slot. bad, because laptop supports full 32 gb of memory. if brave, may try disassembly achieve 32gb of memory. did older g73jw , successful.....it tricky, requires patience , tiny tweezers minute ribbon cables !

 

5. included storage arrangement useless....you must clone contents of original, crappy 5400 rpm 1 tb hard drive onto samsung pro 850 ssd, or, crucial mx 200 ssd. news laptop offers capability raid 0 2 fast ssds !!! have not done this, but, considering brand new crucial mx 200 1tb ssds $350 identical performance samsung 850 pros, tempted install 1 each of 2 2.5" hdd bays on machine , raid 0 them achieve wicked speed of 1.1gb/sec read , 1 gb / sec write speed, total capacity of 2 tb !! increase total investment. use 2 separate 500gb ssds , great performance.....but, better raid 0.   currently, 500 gb mx 200s $173 if use them top performance in raid 0 , total capacity of 1 tb.

 

6. machine arrived in brand new condition, plastic still on it....it flawless , second " refurbished" laptop have bought new egg on years....i have been lucky, no issues either of "refurbished" machines.

 

anyone considering laptop purchase may want consider one. offers solid performance cheap compared high end laptops can go 4 , 5 thousand dollar range. experience machine has been great, , thats why wrote this.

 

go : ppbm7.com see result of model laptop, ( under bill gehrke), on video benchmark test......bill has same laptop.  1 laptop shows faster.....one has not raid o ssd storage setup, but, 1 has faster cpu plus massive 980m nvidia gpu 8 gb of video memory !!! laptop expensive....between 4 , 5 thousand dollars !!

 

for money, build desktop haswell e system !!

newegg had refurbished asus desktop same performance, intel i5, nvidia gtx, $499, sold out. laptop better if mobile editing required.
