Acrobat Pro 10 update failure

i have acrobat 10.1.15 working on win7 laptop. checking updates menu indicates security update available. proceeded per other updates , failed, error 1310, no access c:\program files\adobe\acrobat 10.0\resource\font. checked , changed permissions users though administrator. tried again acrobat 10.1.15 - similar fail failure access c:\config msp (something v similar).

 

checking on adobe web site indicated acrobatsecupd1016.msp latest update. tried downloading , running , amazingly opened paintshop pro x6 !?

 

i have tried stopping acrobat services , running update again. no joy - advice welcome.

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
