Problem with Adjustment Layers and Masks

so have 2 issue when working in premiere pro cc. first, if create , adjustment layer , drag effect fast color correction or luma curve whole video screen turns black, if use , effect change color or dust , scratches works fine. if try use mask on original clip not work @ all. box appears doesn't adjust selected clip masking box. thankfully have these programs on school's computers it's frustrating not able on own!

the program obvious not working correctly.

try trashing preferences , plugin cache restarting computer opening premiere while holding down shift+alt until welcome screen.

Maximum number of authorizations reached!
