Do I need Creative Cloud to use Lightroom

i purchased lightroom 5 few years ago , using no problem few days ago. it's telling me "develop" feature disabled , need sign creative cloud. don't know , why need it. can not use lightroom anymore without it?

have perhaps installed creative cloud use 1 of free trials?

 

you can use lr5 on stand-alone basis, may need re-licence product serial number.

Error: 100600 Update failed, updates have been disabled by your system policy

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
