Captivate 9: Slow Performance (64bit, Version 9.0.0.223)

hi all,

 

i'm experiencing frustratingly slow performance while authoring content. example, moving box, quiz question, image, etc. takes upwards of 15-20 seconds. cpu usage spikes 80-90% on 1 of 4 cores, , captivate stops responding until moving item completed.

 

this occurs there no other applications open.

 

the computer i'm using exceeds system requirements:

core i5-5200u

8gb of ram

 

any advice?

where project located?

 

if it's on network resource, close project, copy local c drive (possibly in folder named c:\projects) , open , see if performance improves.

Error: 100600 Update failed, updates have been disabled by your system policy

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
