Plan renewal with discount

my plan due renewal on 24th november 2015. paid year in advance totalled £447.78 last november.

 

the renewal fee same plan £548.78 - on £100 more last year.

 

adobe running 20% black friday discount until 27th november 2015, have spoken customer support confirm can take advantage of discount when renewing plan.

 

but told can't? in order qualify discount have cancel existing plan , order new one. seems stupid me!

 

why can't adobe apply discount existing plan renewal?

chances discount applicable first time cc customers.  may why told need cancel - need purchase using new/different account well.
