why does my brush change to an erasor when adjusting the brush size?

i have been having issue few months now. when switch eraser tool or zoom tool brush tool can paint, when got change brush, or brush size brush switches last selected tool, either eraser or zoom. happens on various machines, personal 1 , ones @ school attend. preference issue, there quick key thing unaware of, or bug.

please try , reset photoshop preferences

 

steps:

 

to re-create preferences files photoshop, start application while holding down ctrl+alt+shift (windows) or command+option+shift (mac os). then, click yes message, "delete adobe photoshop settings file?"

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
