project settings of an old PE10 video changed to 1080i from 1080p by upgrade to pe14 how to fix?

hi

 

today, tried resurrect video finished year or ago. few bits left do, waiting 1 item 3rd party (a logo) meant never got completed then. using elements 10 , project settings 1080p/25fps.

 

since i've upgraded graphics card. pe10 no longer work card (pe10 old understand card believe) had upgrade pe14 having had bit of break editing since changing card , pe10 stopped working.

 

project settings 1080i (which i've never used - shoot on dslr!) , appears there's no way change without redoing whole edit in new project...!

 

which i've tried do, creating new project 1080p 25fps settings, noticed 2nd issue. trying place 2nd clip @ 6s20frames project turned 7s0frames. ie timecode had started count @ 20fps not 25fps!

 

i not understand what's causing pe14 cause such hassles footage/edits worked brilliantly in pe10. @ moment it's looking unusable

 

can me

 

a) change project settings 1080p/25fps on original project? (really important thing - if suspect answers no)

 

b) offer clues why project runs @ 25fps playing silly *** timecode , how change shows correct 25fps value?

after saw thread, road tested issue , cannot confirm result.

 

if create premiere elements 10 windows 1920 x 1080 @ 25 progressive frames per second project , open in premiere elements 14 windows on windows 10 64 bit, project opens project preset of pal/dslr/1080p/dslr1080p25 - 1920 x 1080 @ 25 progressive frames per second.

 

there never guarantee project created in earlier version open in later version of program. but, here getting open.

 

what premiere elements 10 readings editing mode, timebase, frame size, , pixel aspect ratio in edit menu/project settings/general before open in premiere elements 14?

 

there no backward compatibility premiere elements versions...you cannot open more recent version's project file in earlier version of program.

 

did work involve 1 computer?

 

there might way change project settings in premiere elements 10, editing notepad document of saved closed premiere elements 10 project file. but, not see need go there.

 

please details steps in have done, , can compare why our end result differed.
