How do I change the angle at the end of a stroke?

hi, i'm drawing map using white on black strokes represent roads - working except want join 1 'road' shown below (i've left paths highlighted).

 

i want change angle @ end of stroke, or trim ends in way black strokes aligned , white strokes flow together.

 

i need scalable solution work if thickness of white , black strokes changed later on.

 

i've tried various options involving scissors, erasers, clipping masks , arrowheads haven't had success far.  many can offer simple solution,

make strokes 1 colour without black outlines. when have layout drawn, group paths. select group, , add stroke below group contents in appearance panel. make stroke width greater original strokes , give black colour.
