Trying to eliminate a step between Hauppauge PVR2ge and PRE14

the pvr2 , pre14 along if re-encode captured video handbrake. video ends looking not clear/crisp original capture, @ least i'm not experiencing frame glitches or major loss of frames if re-encode.

 

the settings have have available pvr2's h.264 settings are:

 

profile: base - main - high (i select high)

 

level: 2   2.1   2.2   3   3.1   3.2   4   4.1   4.2 (i select 4.2)

 

latency: low - medium - high (i select high)

 

when this, video looks great in media player, when load in pre14, preview window stutters. once in while several frames missing. these problems show in final rendered product.

 

these problems go away if re-encode original video in handbrake , load re-encoded video pre14.

 

what settings work best or file types work best elements?

without further information you, assuming using handbrake because can set constant frame rate when have recorded variable one.

 

if not sure, please contact hauppauge pvr2 support find out how can record device constant rather variable frame rate.

 

also, better quality handbrake h.264.mp4 constant frame rate, have adjusted bitrate settings , other settings there before export handbrake.
