Adobe InDesign CS5.5 Crashes on opening.

everytime open indesign cs5.5 , try make new document on macbook pro, crashes. running mac os x 10.10.1, don't think os problem, because has done this, ever since bought cs5 in 2011, , have been through multiple os x updates , nothing changes. have twice tried uninstalling , reinstalling indesign, still same issue. photoshop, illustrator, , bridge work fine, indesign doesn't. need work on indesign on laptop don't have access school computers, need fixed asap. not computer whiz, lot of talk on these forums on head, if can help, please keep in mind. appreciated!

try trashing preferences, cs5.5 unsupported under 10.10 problem may amplified multiple o/s upgrades.

Error: 100600 Update failed, updates have been disabled by your system policy

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
