I am unable to download Adobe Reader upgrade on my Apple. When I do I get the message that my file is damaged. Any suggestions?

adobe reader not open 'adobeflashplayer_19_a_install-2.dmg' because either not supported file type or because file has been damaged (for example, sent email attachment , wasn't correctly decoded).

ok, several problems here.

 

1. have downloaded adobe flash player not adobe reader. entirely different thing.

2. never open installers or upgrades in adobe reader. pdf files only. notice file name ends dmg meaning must else it.

3. can dmg file double click in finder. open new window, , need follow regular install instructions.

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
