Can you prevent people sharing PDF's using LDAP or similar on a network?

we have large number (several 1000's) of sensitive documents in pdf format, have been asked if possible stop these files being shared others outside of organisation , stop people copying or emailing third-parties use/view.

the pdf's hosted internally on secure web server ldap based acl restricting access actual pdf's not protected, access site can, if wish, save pdf , share others. what best/correct method of ensuring our pdf's protected?

i've carried out limited amount of research , before going further thought might best ask question may wasting time or following wrong path entirely! assume kind of drm required? these documents cannot hosted nor encrypted outside of network solution have hosted internally in it's entirety.

we on windows domain 500+ users.

thanks in advance useful feedback.

is required:

securing pdfs adobe livecycle rights management es

or overkill our requirements?

you can't stop files being shared, pdf or other kind. using drm can make shared copies useless. drm complex , controversial area. adobe's offering indeed livecycle rights management. cost buy, host , administer. whether that's overkill board level decision.
