Does LR actually recover photo highlights upon import automatically?


i requesting staff person answer question, please.  know teaches lr says this, below, , want know if correct or not correct?  did discuss tech adobe in past , said not correct, see said in writing can certain.

"when you’re evaluating highlight detail in lightroom (or adobe camera raw), keep in mind ever since version 4 lightroom has had automatic highlight recovery. if it’s possible recover overexposed highlights in raw file, lightroom automatically upon import. if import image , see pixels pushed against right edge of histogram, means highlights overexposed recover. "

automatically? no, lightroom doesn't automatically, tell do. if tell recover highlights, yes of course that. can set develop preset applied @ import recover highlights, , happens on every import long told , long don't disable it.
