PSE 13, Windows: Adjustments Don't Stay/Take

hi,

 

i working on files tiff , drawings. open them in pse 13 , clan them technical reports. 1 of things have enhance contrast on images since come old engineering drawings.

 

the adjustments under "enhance" not stay. example, when enhance > lighting > brightness contrast dialogue box comes adjustment knobs. , adjustments seem work. lower brightness , lines darker - effect want. press ok , second dialogue box disappears adjustment , image goes how was.

 

i have tried converting file jpeg, png , other formats see if might make difference , doesn't.

 

i baffled. has seen , have ideas might wrong? not looking super work-around can live issue , not have lot of time. bottom of issue.

Error: 100600 Update failed, updates have been disabled by your system policy

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!! (if have installed arm , delete it, will, on "check updates nothing or common update error ) you nonsense: acrobat updates have been disabled system policy.   error: 100700 if installer ...
