Illustrator to Photoshop: how to save live tracing outline option (as jpeg)?

i'm new illustrator , have vectorized image i'm going using painting. use live trace , go options show outline. can save .ai , open , outline show, when copy photoshop , try save open document , it's blank.

 

 

also i've tried export photoshop keeps saying artboard empty? pls me out. want save outline illustrator in photoshop jpeg can print , use painting.

 

 

i'm sure i'm missing simple, pls me! beyond frustrating. i've been @ few hours now.

are starting scanned raster image , using live trace (and expanding)?

 

or drawing vector path pen tool or something?
