My embedded keywords do not translate across my network

i understand keywords pretty well. isn't discussion how keywords should embedded file, either there—or not. if open file, .tif., .psd, .jpg, etc in photoshop , choose "file info" can manually see keywords added via bridge or lightbox, or can enter keywords manually. realize can through bridge or through lightbox. result same—the keywords embedded file. extensions or types of keywords vary—but there—i can see it.

  • now, if search in bridge keyword entered manually—it finds it. no problem—every time. clarify method using enter keywords not issue. please—no long diatribes on why should have used lightbox.
  • but: if walk across rug coworker's computer , open bridge—which accessing exact same bunch of photos off exact same server—we on exact same usb hub—nothing.
  • here's amazing part. if manually find same image in bridge using coworker's computer. double click it—causing open in photoshop—and close file again—wham—now finds keyword.
  • i didn't opened , saved file—just opened in photoshop—that's thing did—and other computer (my coworker's computer) can find keyword added.
  • i tried "clearing cache—didn't help.

there has way force computer, in case coworker's computer, "find" these natural keywords i've entered without opening every single photo have.

btw—i'm talking large number of photos , have found several other posts on web people exact same issue. none of resolved.

ok, i'm replying own post.

here's did ... went bridge on coworker's machine , "purged cache" on particular folder. chose "build , export new cache" had same effect—the keyword being found on each machine to.

i have assume purging cache entire archive on each person's machine , rebuilding (which take weeks btw) keywords magically start working across network.

so have new issue , new question:

  • is there faster way this—i'm talking tb's of photos.
  • if plotz through weeks—what happens when new keywords added old photos? have purge everyone's bridge cache weekly? cuz suck.
