Maximum number of activations exceeded - but only installed on one computer

i have stand alone copy of lightroom 6 installed on single desktop pc. attempted install on new laptop (which understand possible, long both aren't used simultaneously), @ activation screen claims serial number has been used active maximum number of computers. there limit of 1 computer per licence (which not adobe website says), or has gone wrong? advice appreciated.

just installed acrobat 11.0.13 on windows 7 sp 1 ultimate 64-bit machine.  when try run, > check updates, error below.  happening on several machines.  in domain group policy not restrict updates.  have tried running acrobat "run administrator" , have tried running update service administrator.  no luck.     common acrobat nonsense, there not policy acrobat !!! just missing unnecessary adobe arm !!! this time when see stupid error message installer, not install updater as  !!! but avoid annoying offer update usefulness acrobat dc (ok adobe give try, respect effort, no more reader (sorry adobe !!!) remove complete adobe arm folder, acrobat not need , loose nothing of functionality !!! however paid acrobat xi pro , not need degradation it  dc !!!
