Lightroom versus printer manages color

i have profiled monitor yet i'm finding prints closer monitor renders when let printer (epson 3880) handle color management when let lr handle it. yes, i've turned off "printer manages color" in printer controls. i've tried both perceptual , relative colormetric , noticed no real differences. tried printing photoshop produced prints furthest displayed on monitor. i'm using brilliant exhibition luster paper , believe correct profile (brilllusterep3880pk). overall, prints have magenta cast when using profile , appear more neutral when using "printer manages color."

any ideas?
