Combining photos

i have large piece of artwork had scan in 2 sections.  how seamless combine 2 .jpg files in photoshop elements?

it's difficult advise without benefit of viewing 2 segments of artwork.

open 1 of jpeg files, go image>resize>image size , read resolution in px/in. nothing else here.

next, go file>new>blank file, , enter width, height, , resolution determined previously. math  h & w segments fit. "canvas."

next, copy/paste each segment, , use move tool approximate segments. should have 3 layers: background, , 2 layers segments.

at interface try cloning, and/or using smudge tool. lot depends on nature of artwork, quality of scan, etc.

if inclined, post 2 files at.
