IDML crashes


since last adobe update creative cloud i've noticed documents i've created prior update crash if export them idml & try open idml file. documents open fine, it's idml file cannot open.

 

i figured problem might because these documents have been modified & updated since cs4 created new templates (which sophisticated & complex) , figured i'd try copy & paste data previous files new template. made sure template worked when exported idml proceeded copy document contents new template. unfortunate idml export problem persists.

 

i noticed text frame object styles when imported seemed create problem tried removing text object style none cause of paragraph & character styles change & wouldn't return normal if reapplied text style. , idml crash problem still remained. tried creating new document, individually created new text frames & tried copying in text. seemed work moment created new text frame in document & tried idml export & reopen, crash problem reappear. removing graphic styles didn't fix problem either , tedious have many inline graphic icons embedded in text have object styles force positioning.

 

this serious problem. each of our yearly catalogues imports vast majority of products previous catalogues idml issue becomes problem in each new document. recreating our imported items not option - produce 1100+ page catalogue takes months update & create each year , many smaller ones on top - accounts on 100 new documents each year. need have ability recover document becomes corrupt.


has else encountered and/or found solution?

are updated indesign cc 2015.1 (august update)? operating system?

 

have tried restoring indesign preferences?

 

trash, replace, reset, or restore application preferences
