Transcoding a feature project for travel

i have feature cut on pp cc 2014. it's r3d, has bmpcc , other stuff in it. resolutions anywhere 1080 on 6k. partner across country wants mess around edit , try stuff (and wants in fcp, let's stick step 1 here...). since duping 7tb worth of footage bunch of drives , shipping costly trying transcode project footage less data-heavy. "consolidate , transcode" function seems way, not working. copies r3d footage new folders , i'm @ square 1. thinking has varying frame sizes of footage. so, there way convert footage lightweight h.264 mov, preserve sequence , edits, , him?

 

 

 

supplemental question not terribly relevant forum need answered day: if can this, can convert pproj format fcp can read?

might easier have friend hop on plane.
