Copy shapes/objects from Indesign to Word or Excel

hi all,

this can in previous versions of indesign doesn't seem work in indesign cc 2015

basically test workflow, create shape using ellipse tool or triangle tool.

i hit edit > copy , try paste word nothing comes up.

i can copy , paste within indesign fine though.

i noticed can't copy tables unless highlight actual contents of table.

any tips/ideas on i'm doing wrong?

there's no support copying indesign objects clipboard. it's not standard format. it's not recognized office apps.
