What would cause the addition of artifacts to an audio track when using Automatic Pitch Correction?

hello,

while using automatic pitch correction, modest settings, artifacts added audio.  understand why happen during live playback, noises included after effect applied.  have tried many variations of sample rates, i/o buffer settings, etc.  clicks , pops present when using settings in effect cause @ max 10 cents adjustment.  able run many other resource intensive effects simultaneously without problem.  seems happen 1 particular effect.

today encountered exact problem well.  audition cc 2015.  can hear pop artifacts in multitrack playback.  worse, when mixdown, pops embedded in resulting output file.

 

i tried using envelope controls turn effect rack power off during segments pops occurred in mixdown, didn't help.  effect rack "turned off" pops still appeared.  if remove effect completely, pop artifacts don't show @ all.

 

were able find workaround?
